4 tips to stay organized during a DIY project

I absolutely detest wasting time looking for my tools and materials during a DIY project! When I’m organized, I spend more time and energy actually doing the work. As a result, I will have a chance to finish a project.Β

Tip #1: How do I keep my stuff organized?

Keep a bucket or tool bag on hand to keep all of your tools and additional supplies. I love using a bucket because I can use it to move from room to room. Also, the bucket itself is a tool. For example, I can mix joint compound inside for it.

You need a centralized place to keep all of your supplies!

Tip #2: Keep your space clean

Additionally, clean up at the end of each day. Do not to work until you are beat down tired. Therefore, you will still have energy to clean up and put away any and all materials.Β

Plus, there’s so much debris involved in a DIY project — much more than what you think. Save your sanity and keep your workspace as clean as possible. If not, you’ll have an even bigger mess to clean up in the end.

Tip #3: Track your what you buy

Make a commitment to track everything you buy or use during the project. Write it down on the sheet of paper or keep a log and a spreadsheet digitally. When you track all expenses, you can more accurately know how much your DIY project actually cost.

Tip #4: Take lots of pictures

Be sure to take lots of photos! No, you do not need to document extensively like I do. However, take a picture of each step you complete to remember what you did and when you did it.

In conclusion, when you’re organized, you are more productive! Hopefully, you can use these tips to stay organized during a DIY project for your next foray.

Sincerely,

Felicia.
